Shana Carter was last seen leaving her boyfriend’s house on Arrowhead Lane in Grimsby, Ontario on December 4 around 10:30pm. Her friends and family miss her dearly, including her three-year-old son. She also has family in Halifax, Nova Scotia and might be anywhere between Ontario and the Maritime provinces.
Details: 25 years old, 5’7”, brown hair & eyes, tattoo on her wrist that says “Leroy”

Personally, I hate the way the local media is treating her disappearance. It was a brief notice buried on the 6th page in between huge advertisements and the photo published was tiny, grainy and unclear. I have no doubt that she isn’t receiving greater coverage because she’s a woman of colour. Also, every article I’ve found online makes unnecessary mention of her “troubled youth” and “transient lifestyle” (meaning she worked in a strip club over three years ago). I hate that whenever a woman disappears who was even remotely connected with strip clubs or sex work, the media always makes a note of it. Why?
